- Second Amendment (U.S. Constitution)
"Where in the name of common-sense, are our fears to end if we may not trust our sons, our brothers, our neighbors, our fellow-citizens? What shadow of danger can there be from men who are daily mingling with the rest of their countrymen and who participate with them in the same feelings, sentiments, habits and interests?"
- Alexander Hamilton
"Whenever governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins."

Where is the difference between having our arms in our possession and under our own direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?"

The American Militia Association supports "We the People", the true sovereign rulers of the United States, who constitute the body of the militia as it was well understood to be defined by the founders of the Constitution.
We are bound by law to educate & arm you with the tools necessary to protect and defend your rights, against all enemies, foreign or domestic!

Our requirements to serve the public in this manner is made clear under our Articles of Incorporation which state:

"The American Militia Association is incorporated ... for the specific purpose of promoting and enhancing the general welfare of communities across the United States as an agency for education, research, public safety and public service; to operate schools of instruction with a focus on constitutional law, community service, civil defense, disaster preparedness, weapon safety, survival techniques and first responder training; and to operate media stations and networks for the extension of these purposes."

The mission of the American Militia Association is to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America by training and arming the people of this nation.

So, What does the American Militia Association actually do?

Our four primary directives are outlined below. You can expand each section for greater detail. Additional stated purposes generally fall into one of these primary groups.

Education

Congress and the States have respectively failed to provide the training necessary for the entire militia. Select militias such as State National Guard and State Defense Forces are 'organized' under color of law while the rest of the militia has been classed as 'unorganized' and thereby denied support and training by State governments and the national government of the United States. The 9th Amendment of the Constitution is clear,

"The Enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."

The people of this nation have a right to life which they themselves have a duty and right to protect for themselves and others. The people also have the right to liberty, to keep and bear arms, and the Constitution's second amendment makes it abundantly clear, that the security of a free state requires these rights not be infringed.

The American Militia Association aims to provide its enrolled student and alumni members with educational resources to assist them in obtaining the skills necessary to act as effective members of the militia. These resources include digital text, audio/visual media and printable resources available to enrolled students.

Because the American Militia Association is a 501(c)(3) educational and charitable organization, we are not a typical membership organization like those you may be used to such as the American Legion, National Rifle Association (NRA) or Gun Owners of America (GOA).

Our "members" are actually our enrolled students and alumni, who pay a very minimal annual tuition or continuing education contribution of just $25.00 per year. Grants are offered by the Association for the poor who can not afford the low annual cost of enrollment, although we encourage all students and alumni to make annual contributions of some amount when they can.

Research

There are a variety of research objectives of the American Militia Association. The most important includes legal research pertaining to old, new or amended laws, not necessarily Constitutional, that either support or infringe upon right of the people to provide for their common defense. This reasearch activity also includes regular investigation and reporting on violations of the Constitution of the United States and other binding documents which members of Government are duty bound to uphold and defend.

Tactical weapon and munitions research is another major element of the Association's objectives. By keeping tabs on the latest in police force and military weaponry which includes both defensive and offensive devices and systems, we will be in a better position to train our members about potentials threats and weaknesses that they may face when confronting an enemy force. The Association recognizes many federal laws which require proper licensing and authority when either engaging in manufacturing such systems, posessing such systems and disseminating information about them.

Organization research is another major element of the Association. This includes the investigation of a variety of organizations opposed or supporting the right of common defense. This also includes the investigation and reporting on groups which claim an association with militia service, many of which may include the very organizations that some of our enrollees may participate in. Such militia related groups and organizations should not fear this aspect of our Association's activities unless they are clearly engaged in violation of constitutional laws. Organizations and their leadership or members acting unlawfully present a great risk to the entire militia movement. These groups must act within the law in order to seperate them from what may otherwise be considered as armed gangs of thugs or terrorist organizations.

We are not the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)! Any organization we might report on will always include an unlimited opportunity for the leadership of those organizations to formally respond to any reports without any editorial revisions by our staff. Our reports will only contain evidentiary findings free of editorial opinion. A positive report about an organization should not be considered an endorsement. The Association will never specifically endorse any militia organization, but may at times certify partner organizations having positive reports which comply with the Associations rules regarding their participation in activities sponsored by the Association.

*All registered students and certified partners of the Association are welcome to participate in our research activities, provide evidence or claims, or make use of our secure online research tools.

Public Saftey

The American Militia Association actively organizes and trains local individuals and groups providing voluntary public safety services which include auxillary policing, fire fighting, search and rescue operations with or without K-9 support, Community Emergency Response Teams, Neigborhood Watches and detective agencies in order to lessen the burdens of government.

Public Service

We provide direct charitable benefits to individuals and organizations, inluding financial grants to obtain the skills and materials necessary for their public saftety duties.

The American Militia Association IS NOT A "NATIONAL MILITIA", "SELECT MILITIA" or "STANDING ARMY", and our Alumni, Students and Volunteers ARE NOT "OUR SOLDIERS".

We have absolutely NO military command objectives or legal authority to introduce them. Our organization was formed to provide support for what is legally recognized as the "unorganized" militia, which we recognize as including all able bodied Americans bearing arms for the defense of themselves, their communities, State and nation.

Our motto is: You Are The Militia!

We are also bound by IRS regulations regarding 501(c)(3) tax exemption to educate and provide direct charitable benefits to the public in the form of community service and public safety without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religious or political affiliation.
